The Forsythe Clan
Matthew's family hails from Scotland, and his business logo honors his Scottish heritage. His great-grandfather, born in Leven, Scotland, instilled a deep connection to their ancestral homeland in Matthew, his father Bill, and siblings. Leven, situated on Scotland's western coast by the "Firth of Forth," holds sentimental significance. Bill's visit to Leven in the 1950s, while serving in the Army Signal Corps in post-war Germany, enabled him to reconnect with Forsyth relatives.
Scottish families, known as "Clans," traditionally have their own plaid or "Tartan" as a symbol. Despite the Forsyth Clan disappearing from records in the 17th century due to historical events, interest in reviving it emerged in the 20th century. In 1978, on St. Andrews Day, Clan Forsyth regained recognition, with Alistair C.W. Forsyth becoming its rightful Chief, as acknowledged by Lord Lyon, King of Arms.
